The project is based on the memoir, Mozart in the Jungle by Blair Tindall. Mozart in the Jungle is about the sex, drugs and drama that goes on behind the curtains of the world’s most famous symphony production teams. Seasons 1 – 3 were very successful gathering an average about 90% on Rotten Tomatoes and stellar reviews by critics and fans alike. Season 4 will release in early December on Amazon Video exclusively.
Amazon Studios was set up in 2010 and has since distributed content through Amazon Video, a digital streaming service similar to Netflix and HBO. Since the studio was created, they have managed to push out plenty of high quality content that rivals some of the best shows on television. They have also worked on movies, the latest being the Oscar winning drama, Manchester by the Sea starring Casey Affleck. The Amazon show Transparent starring Jeffrey Tambor was so loved in the industry that it won a Golden Globe for Best Series in 2015.
