About the Show – A Series of Unfortunate Events

Netflix is creating a new television series titled, A Series of Unfortunate Events, based on the book with the same title. The first book in the series gained tremendous popularity and commercial success. After its popularity, Paramount Pictures produced a movie on A Series of Unfortunate Events which cast Jude Law, Emily Browning, Meryl Streep, and Jim Carey, as the voice of the Lemony Snicket. Now Paramount pictures and Netflix are the bringing the characters to a television series.

The executive producers are Daniel Handler and Barry Sonnenfield. No released date is announced yet. The story revolves around three orphans, Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire who encounter hard times in the hands of the evil, Count Olaf. The orphan kids are put in the Count’s custody, but the Count wants to steal the inheritance of the kids. Throughout the series, the three children discover secrets and try to solve the mystery of their parent’s death along with outsmarting Count Olaf.

Online Auditions for Kids – A Series of Unfortunate Events

The casting directors are conducting online auditions for two lead child actors to play the roles of Violet and Klaus.  Both the characters have speaking roles. The production of the show will begin in early 2016. The online auditions will be conducted in January 2016.

According to Variety, Netflix stated that the world developed by Lemony Snicket is unique, relevant, and funny, they can’t wait to bring the series to Netflix viewers.  If you think your child is suitable for the role and fits in the following description, then you must submit their online auditions by January 15, 2016 which is the last date for submission. Violet

Violet is a young, mature girl.  She is the eldest among the three kids and she is very creative with her inventions. She is self-confident, smart and capable beyond her age. She solves the problems that her and her siblings face with her inventive and creative mind. Being the eldest, she acts as a leader in the group of the three. Klaus

Klaus is very smart and the middle child among the three orphans. He is charming as well as a voracious reader. This leading child actor must fit in the following description.

• Age: 10 – 13 years

How to Audition?

Auditions are open for all children worldwide. The shooting of the series will take place in Vancouver in March 2016. You are required to submit the complete audition form on the Cast It website.  Then you must film the audition and upload it to the website.
