The popular network that brought us shows like The Real World, Jersey Shore and True Life has announced that they will be joining the food craze and launch their newest reality show Food School. This week, MTV put out a casting call to aspiring chefs for Food School. It’s a Real World-style show that will have all the contestants living under one roof while receiving culinary training from some of the best chefs in the industry. Long since having abandoned the M in their acronym, MTV is has decided to take on the new phenomenon that is sweeping the country — food. Their newest reality show, Food School, is now looking for amateur chefs for a Real World, Top Chef-esque mash-up competition show and this is your chance to audition. According to the press release and website, they’re seeking “amateur chefs, bakers and cooking enthusiasts of all kinds, with the biggest personalities and a fierce appetite” Do not miss out on your chance to be on the new MTV reality show apply now!Food Network, Bravo and Fox already have strong programming on-air in the food competition space. I continued my service to our country as a Department of Defense Civilian performing work in the Shipbuilding Industry. I am from Joliet, IL, live in Virginia from 1999-2014, moved to Gurnee, IL last year. I have 2 sons ages 10 and 7. I have been cooking at home for a number of years. I enjoy the relaxation and feeling of accomplishment that cooking and experimenting with food gives me. I love shopping, researching and comparing kitchen utensils and equipment. I resigned from all federal employment last June. Yes I served several years but it was not satisfying. However I found myself always picking up cookbooks, food mags, saving recipes, etc. and I had no problem being tasked with that for hours. I am now a full time student at Kendall College in the Goose Island area of Chicago and although I am studying, I love being there. The chefs are knowledgeable and supportive, the curriculum is a little intense but I am learning much more beyond what I had imagined I would. I am so excited about earning my BA in Culinary Arts. I have been experimenting in the kitchen since I could walk. I love learning new techniques and flavor combinations, and I’m always eager to try new dishes. Being in college, I’ve learned to make healthy, low budget meals without compromising on flavor or complexity. I especially like to focus on meatless dishes, though I am not a vegetarian. I just enjoy the challenge! I also love to bake but try to focus on less traditional, less sweet desserts. I went to business school because as much as I love the culinary arts, I never wanted to lose my passion for ot by turning it into a job. I would enjoy doing this show to sharpen my skill sets and expand my horizons.
I also grew up acting but quit after highschool because I didn’t think it was a real career option for me. I preferred the stage to the camera but I’m only 5’1” and not a strong singer which limits my roles. I was always fantastic in the roles I received and was awarded All Star Cast at the district level of competition for my role in Alchy.
Aside from all that: I am highly intelligent and a little introverted. I love vinyl, polaroids, cats, coffee, Harry Potter, and my ukulele.
I never serve a dish that doesn’t look appetizing. So I have a lot of fun creating dishes and garnishments. I’ve traveled a lot and picked up a lot of influences of food from all over the world. I would have a lot of fun on this show and I’m hoping to get a chance to audition!

I am in my home economics club in my school, we cook many different types of foods and we learn many new skills. next month we will be going to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA and we will be getting tours of many kitchens in the theme park and we will be getting top notch chef demonstrations. I come from a family of very good cooks and my parents and grandparents have taught me how to make many food dishes which are very enjoyable. I have a few first cousins that work in Vegas hotels and casino kitchens. I have been cooking for about seven years and I have been entered in a variety of food contests. I hope to get a chance on this show and I appreciate your time.
Hi MTV! I grew up with your network and love how its grown. I am a 22 year old Executive Agent that lives and breathes San Francisco. Born and raised in Northern California I spent my childhood cooking, camping, and horseback riding. I graduated college with a degree in Anthropology and a minor in Human Sexuality. The place where I developed the most was in the kitchen fixing my mother’s cooking mistakes (without her knowledge) and learning at the elbow of my recently deceased Grandmother. I am a firm believer that cooking is an expression of your true self and thus you should always use flavors that not only compliment the primary ingredients but your personality as well. I cook, live, and fly by the seat of my pants and excel the most under high pressure circumstances. Although I do not share the kitchen well, I work well in teams otherwise. This is such an awesome idea MTV… Food School??? I for one, LOVE food hahaha but get this… I love experimenting with food.. I really enjoy baking and most definitely would love to learn some stuff.
