House of Style a fashion centered show that ran on MTV throughout the 1990s, is returning to the network. The new House of Style will live on MTV’s Style blog, where the network will upload video shorts each week and some parts of the show will appear on a few TV broadcasts and on the social network sites. MTV will premiere the new show on Oct. 9 and unveil a new host on the red carpet at the Sept. 6 Video Music Awards. This is a great opportunity for any aspiring model to be discovered by revisiting a popular 90’s show.
The original House of Style got its TV debut in 1989 and ran for 78 episodes. The show was eventually canceled in 2000.The show was brought back in 2009 but it never took off. House of Style helped pave the way for some of the biggest fashion models in the industry today such as Cindy Crawford, Rebecca Romijn and Molly Simms.The series proved groundbreaking in its ability to evolve with the changing fashions of the decade by presenting style as accessible and obtainable for the masses. The show gave the viewers a look inside the fashion industry.
Although the producers are unsure of the approach the show is going to take, it’s is a perfect opportunity for an aspiring model or actress. They are now taking in application for girls that are 18 and over and with the height of at least 5’9″ who are aspiring to be high fashion models.
