The nerds are back on TBS! King Of The Nerds has been announced for a second season and this is your chance to audition. The network has renewed King of the Nerds, their competition series hosted by two stars of the 80s comedy classic Revenge of the Nerds and expects to bring the new season of eight episodes in 2014. Hosted by actors Robert Carradine and Curtis Armstrong, King of the Nerds features competitors from across the nerd spectrum facing challenges that test their intellect, ingenuity, skills and pop-culture prowess. The hit TBS show is now holding auditions for intellectual men and women ages 18+. So if you are a fan of Star Wars, Lord of The Rings or Star Trek or you love video games and everything that scream nerd than TBS wants to hear from you. King of The Nerds follows eleven contestants as they complete various tasks in order to win the grand prize of $100,000 and to be crowned the greatest of them all,worthy to sit on “the Throne of Games”.
In the first week, the contestants are separated into two teams chosen via schoolyard pick. The teams compete in a Nerd War, an event that requires them to work together to prepare for the main demonstration. Judges select which team is the better team; members on this team are safe from elimination. On the losing team, two players are selected for a Nerd Off; one is selected by a secret vote on the losing team, and the other from a similar vote from the winning team. The two selected players are told what the concept is behind the nerd-off, giving them a few hours to prepare by talking to anyone else still remaining in the game. At the event, the losing player is eliminated from the game.
King of The Nerds averaged 2.1 million viewers and this is your chance to audition for the new season. So if you are a gamer who knows everything and anything about video games or you have a huge collection of action figures or comic books than the producers want to hear from you. I am perfect for king of the nerds because even the smallest of acquaintances knows to pair that need to me. I am the nerdiest 16 year old girl you will ever meet. That’s right. I said sixteen. I may only be a junior in high school, but that has been more than enough time for me to develop my nerd skills. I have a 4.0 GPA and am currently taking college classes, I have been intellectually advanced my whole life. I am all conference for quiz bowl, my team took first in our conference (we got an official plaque and everything). Science is my favorite subject seeing as I will be a veterinary technician, so anything animal is all me (Pokemon too, because they’re not technically classified as animals). I’m a hardcore pokemon fan. I breed so many pokemon that my friends started making requests on what pokemon they wanted, and I would breed them too. That being said, I’m also a gamer. I play street fighter, super smash, injustice, and a plethora of other games. I write crossover fanfiction too. I’m currently writing a Naruto and Shaman King crossover. I consider myself to be a nerd however school was never a strength of mine (almost failed Sr year of HS because of math, and am having to retake math in college for a second semester) However I am a Military History buff. My love has always been WWII and the Civil war thought lately I have been studying other wars as well, and consider myself to be a strategist.
I am also an Equine Science aficionado when I was younger I attended the National 4H roundup 3 times for Horse bowl (Jeopardy) Hippology (Latin for study of the horse) and public speaking (where I placed ninth) I am also an avid Horseback rider. not as much as I used to be since I lost my amazing horse to a brain tumor several years ago, but I am regaining my confidence and starting to be good at it again.
I also have some XP points in blacksmith and farrier skills but these are skills that have sadly gotten rusty over the last few years.
I am a decent gamer some of my favorite games are RTS (Sid Meier’s Gettysburg, Empire Total War almost 300 hours on that game alone, Star wars Empire at War) FPS (the Halo games made by Bungie.) RPG (OMG BIOWARE I LOVE YOU KoTOR/DA) I love the Assassins Creed Games as well as the Arkham Games and Shadow or Mordor. As for Online gaming I play a lot of World of Tanks, I used to play COD but decided that I was addicted to it.
My motivation quite honestly is that 100,000 would go a long way towards my wife and I being able to get a home of our own that has a washer and dyer and a working oven (I have been having to cook with the broiler for the past several months) the money could also be used to pay for the rest of my schooling. regardless some part of any winnings will be used to finish up any incomplete costumes I would donate part of any winnings to a charity via the 501st legion because I believe that such a great spoil of war should be shared with those less fortunate than myself.
