About the Show – The Get Down
The Get Down is described as a mythic saga of how New York at the verge of bankruptcy initiated a hip-hop, punk and disco. The show set in 1970s New York City. At that time, the city was completely bankrupt along with street violence and urban decay. Luhrman has been developing this show over the last decade. The show features Jadeen Smith, son of Will Smith.
Luhrman gained rapid popularity especially for his two films, Moulin Rouge and The Great Gatsby. Now the great Gatsby and Rouge’s director, Baz Luhrman is coming up with a new project on Netflix. The Get Down will be a musical drama produced by the Sony Pictures Television. The episodes of the show are declared to be available on Netflix in 2016.

Baz Luhrman is in search of extras who are of African American and Hispanic decent. They will be playing a the role of people at a flea market. However, the fundamental requirement for the actors is to be adults irrespective of their age range. It will be a multi-day shoot.
Casting Notice for the New Project on Netflix ‘The Get Down’ in New York City
The casting team of the show is looking for non-union African American and Hispanic actors of any age to work in a flea market scene (exterior summer) in the new series appearing on Netflix.
All male and female actors must have appropriate natural hair length with respect to the time period. No braids, weaves, shaved heads or wigs would be allowed. The following are the details for the actors.
