The rumors have finally breached a decision by NBC execs, yes, it’s true “The Munsters” are coming to an NBC TV screen near you! The remake of the unforgettable tale, after more than 20 years of sleep is back! Executive producers at NBC are headlining the series premiere regardless of the unsuccessful remakes of shows such as “Hawaii Five-O” and “Charlie’s Angels”. For those of you that are not familiar with the infamous TV Series “The Munsters” let’s recap!

The 1960’s drama was an American family sitcom that illustrated the life at home of a family of monsters. “The Munsters” starred Yvonne De Carlo as Lily Monster, wife of Fred Gwynne who was Herman Munster. Every typical monster movie during that time was surpassed with this hit TV sitcom. The only other competition of its time was “The Addams Family”. These same comical monsters are now coming back to primetime television by the writer Bryan Fuller, who is responsible for “Pushing Daisies” and recently the TV Series “Heroes”, where he is co-executive producer and writer.

The new adaptation of “The Munsters” will be a TV series that runs an hour long weekly, and will address the tale on how the Munsters family came to be. The series will be set off once the Munsters wake up from their 20 year sleep. In the process of the project being impacted by NBC producers and their decision to possibly also headline a remake of Frankenstein, the producers of “The Munsters” are determined to have a successful run with their first season.

Casting directors are now on their own ‘Munster Hunt’ for the perfect cast! Since there is no recent rumor of NBC backing out of the deal, casting calls are under way. Main characters and extras will be cast over the next few months and the first season is already set to shoot. 6 roles in particular are being cast for a filming that will start in February. They are looking for quality actors, and talent of all shapes and sizes and age groups to fit Fullers creative character breakdowns. Some A-List actors are in the process of being cast for the roles, but everyone will get a fighting chance to be on this matchless re-make of the 1960’s TV Series “The Munsters”.

    Love to act, enjoy playing any role. I’ve had experience in a play in 8th grade.
    I’m a 9th grader I live in Fresno, California. I’m willing to be what ever role you want me to be. I can be serious, but I need to work on crying on cue. I don’t care what role you pick for me because like I said I love acting and it’s fun for me to be a different person. :)

  8. I used to watch The Munsters when it still aired on TV. Loved that show! As an actor with theatre training & experience, I might have too much emotion. I’ve taken one “acting for the camera” class and I had a very powerful presence. Always have. My only camera credits include indie films from Idaho. I studied acting at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, and now I need income to help pay off student loans! Thank you for your consideration.

  13. I would be super interested in a roll in the Munsters. Everyone tells me how much I look like Lily! If they need a spooky girl for a roll then they should contact me! I’m also a HUGE fan of the Munsters. I’ve seen the entire series twice, and all the movies and documentaries. I also have a lot of acting experience, and I can do my own makeup, since I’m a self-taught makeup artist for alternative models. I would LOVE to audition! ♥
